Fortuna Gift Certificate
A "citywide currency" that is good at any business in Fortuna. Employers, community groups and individuals give certificates in the place of cash or out-of-town gift certificates. Besides being a convenient gift, the certificates send a message that doing business in Fortuna is important to the buyer.
FBID Online
The business improvement districts newly redesigned site does more to recruit potential businesses, provides a separate area for Fortuna businesses to stay informed and communicate with each other and speaks to the general public about Fortunas business community.
Bulk Mail Program
Saving Fortuna businesses money on direct mail marketing with FBIDs mail permit and easy instructions on mailers.
Customer Appreciation Day
A citywide monthly promotion with retail, restaurant, service and professional participating businesses. FBID advertises about 70 businesses with special offers given on the Last Tuesday of the month.
Mural Grant Program
Small grants to assist business and property owners in getting murals painted on their commercial buildings. FBID Board will begin giving two grants per fiscal year in 2005-06.
Goods and Services Guide
A classified guide to all licensed Fortuna businesses. The booklet groups businesses by major product, service or profession as well as secondary or tertiary emphasis.
FBID sponsored Seminars and Classes
FBID hosts or co-sponsors seminars with the goal of making businesses stronger and more able to challenge competition and stay in business. Recently FBID has teamed with SBDC on a retail marketing series and plans other classes with the partnership. FBID also runs Public relations and advertising seminars about once a year]
FBID Event Assistance
One of FBIDs first roles was the assistance of community events. FBID uses events as a way to leverage advertising and press coverage about Fortunas business community. FBID continues to offer grant funding to community events. As events mature, FBID gives community events logistics and public relations support after grant funds are phased out. Some events use FBIDs event liability insurance policy.
